Nutley Unico

Nutley UNICO is a dedicated Italian American organization serving the Nutley, NJ community with a comprehensive mission to promote, preserve, and celebrate Italian heritage and culture. Since 1959, the organization has been actively engaged in supporting charitable, scientific, cultural, educational, and literary projects that honor Italian American contributions to society. Nutley UNICO operates on the core principles of Unity, Neighborliness, Integrity, Charity, and Opportunity—values that guide every initiative and community engagement.

The chapter is recognized as one of the largest UNICO chapters in the nation and earned the prestigious designation of UNICO National Model Chapter in 2002, reflecting its commitment to excellence and community service. Through strategic programming and partnerships, Nutley UNICO stimulates interest in Italian culture among both young and old, creating meaningful opportunities for understanding and appreciating Italian history, language, and arts. The organization demonstrates its dedication through substantial annual scholarship contributions exceeding $27,000, support for Italian Studies chairs at major universities including Seton Hall and Montclair State, and ongoing support for national causes such as the Jimmy V Fund and Cooley's Anemia research. Monthly dinner meetings and special events provide members and community members with opportunities to connect, celebrate, and contribute to the organization's mission of service above self.
