Queensboro Unico

Queensboro Unico is a dedicated service organization based in Middle Village, NY, committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals and families in need throughout the community and beyond. As a chapter of UNICO National, Queensboro Unico comprises over 60 business professionals from Brooklyn and Queens who unite around shared Italian-American values and a passion for community service. The organization provides comprehensive support across multiple areas, including charitable assistance, educational initiatives, and cultural preservation programs. Queensboro Unico administers significant annual funding, awarding approximately $250,000 in grants and $115,000 in scholarships to support students and community needs. The chapter has distinguished itself through innovative educational programs, including Italian language promotion in high schools and the establishment of endowed chairs at universities dedicated to Italian American Studies. With a century-long track record of responding to community crises—from providing relief to Italian earthquake victims to supporting families affected by 9/11—Queensboro Unico demonstrates sustained commitment to civic responsibility. The organization uniquely completed an Italian studies program of unprecedented magnitude as the only UNICO chapter to accomplish this feat independently and in record time.
